Kudu

The kudu is a type of spiral-horned antelope. In fact there are two species of kudu, the 'greater kudu', which grows to about 5 feet in height and inhabits eastern and southern Africa, and the 'lesser kudu', which grows to only 4 feet in height and is native only to eastern Africa.

The name 'kudu' was imported into the English language from indigenous African languages, and denotes the twisting nature of the male mammal's horns. Females do not have horns. Kudus form herds and depend on cover for sustenance and concealment from predators, such as lions.

Kudus are noble and majestic creatures that are fascinating to observe in the wild. If you would like to book a kudu tour, try Altezza Travel.
